Signature Funerals were a start up funeral director, moving into a premises where there had previously been a funeral director business which had been closed for some time. The premises had fallen into a state of disrepair and looked very tired.
Create a brand which:
• Separates the new business from the existing business whilst maintaining the fact it is still a funeral home.
• Is modern and clean but not stark or harsh.
• Was sympathetic to the business type, the client made it clear they didn’t want to use traditional funeral home colours.
• Tied in with the traditional stone cottage and village feel of Ramsbottom.
Following initial consultation with the client we settled on a teal/duck egg colour very early on. We added the orange and grey as complementary colours to ensure the brand wasn’t dull. Below is the range of initial ideas we presented to the client.
Focus on the Signature text element
Infinity loop with a break in it to signify death but living on.
Classical font with musical symbol for rest.
Birds flying away to signify being set free.
Following consultation we developed the ‘freedom of the birds’ approach. Highlighting one of the birds to show the company is all about the individual and how important that person is. From that initial brand concept we have created a range of business stationery:
• Compliment Slips
• Post Cards
• Business Cards
We also created the shop front signage, using a combination of modern and traditional techniques and materials to complete the brief. The lettering is designed to catch the LED lighting and stand out against the matte wooden textured background panel which is finished with beading to complete the look.
We then recommended our web site developer Pronto Media who have created a lead generation site. We continue to work closely with Signature Funerals providing printed Order of Service and helping them to grow the business further.
